While studying applied physics in Delft, Netherlands, somewhere mid 1989, Bob became involved in the Dutch telephony and computer scene that was driven from the Hacktic folks in Amsterdam. With several fellow students each specializing in their respective technical area, Bob and his friends participated in several community activities like Hacking at the End of the Universe, 1993 in Lelystad. Until graduating in Applied Physics in 1996, Bob submitted several articles and letters to obscure media like Hacktic and 2600. Bob was a co-founder of Klaphek. Just before joining communications firm AT&T, Bob quit active phreaking.
